The multitalented Christene Barberich has made her first foray into the home space, and we're glad she took the leap. The award-winning writer, co-founder of Refinery29, and New York Times best-selling author of Style Stalking has collaborated with The Inside to create a line of affordable, design-forward furniture inspired by design icons like Anni Albers, Edith Heath, and Georgia O'Keefe.
"As a lifelong lover of history, textiles, and ephemera, I wanted this collection to respectfully honor the iconic work of some of my favorite women artists and makers," Barberich says of the collection, which includes ottomans, statement chairs, throw pillows, poufs, benches, and bed frames. "So many pivotal pioneers— think printmaker Anni Albers, ceramicist Edith Heath, architect Anne Griswold Tyng, and the quilt-makers of Gee's Bend, Alabama—have profoundly influenced their craft and, certainly, how I see home and design. I really hope this collection celebrates that: their fiercely unique view of the world, and how creations like theirs inform who we are and how we want to live."
