One of my fondest childhood memories is sitting at the kitchen table with my artillery of markers and favorite coloring books, drawing ever so neatly between the lines. I was mad about it, and I could literally sit there for hours doing it, too. Well, it turns out coloring isn't just child's play. Adults are turning to coloring books for relaxation and stress relief. Psychologist Gloria Martínez Ayala told The Huffington Post that coloring "brings out our imagination and takes us back to our childhood, a period in which we most certainly had a lot less stress." Psychologist Antoni Martínez says he personally practices coloring as a relaxation technique. "I recommend it in a quiet environment, even with chill music. Let the color and the lines flow," he adds. The kindergarten practice has become so popular that six of the top 10 best-selling books on Amazon are coloring books for grown-ups.
