Tour Supermodel Eugenia Silva’s Breezy Portuguese Beach House
>Though Spanish supermodel Eugenia Silva already owned an idyllic summer home on Fomentera, an island nearby Ibiza, her best friend and decorator Luis Galliussi was intent that she add another property to her portfolio: a summer retreat in Comporta, Portugal. South of Lisbon, the small coastal region is a collection of small village, much like the Hamptons, and draws a growing set of tastemakers and social elite—among them Mario Testino, Christian Louboutin, and Princess Caroline. The model would no doubt find some ultra-chic neighbors she knew there.
>With a little convincing and real-estate strategizing, Silva soon enough purchased a plot of land with a trio of small abandoned houses on the property. She called in Galliussi to bring the interiors to life, and he focused on restoring their rustic roots. Mixing vintage tiles and wooden beams with crochet bedspreads, farmhouse tables, and IKEA finds, he created an inviting and understated space that’s every bit as beautiful as the woman who lives there.
