The Little Market Huipil and Corte Pillows ($60 and up)
Each of our huipil and corte pillows is thoughtfully handmade by talented artisans. No two pillows are alike in this curated collection, so they’re perfect for elevating home décor with a unique touch.
Each corte pillow is made from the handwoven fabric of a repurposed, traditional Mayan corte skirt. Cortes are woven using a technique that has been passed down for generations. A woman artisan uses a treadle foot loom to weave the fabrics, and then she embroiders the fabric by hand to add designs such as animals, flowers, and symbols. The patterns tell their own stories that are unique to a family or village.
Choose from our collection of vibrant huipil pillows to match your décor. These pillows are handmade from the traditional blouses that are worn by Mayan women. Each design reflects the artisan’s personality and her heritage.
You can mix and match these colorful and chic pillows throughout your home for an effortless, classic look.
Our artisan partner Precious Hands is based out of Guatemala. This team of female artisans makes fair-trade goods ranging from one-of-a-kind pencil bags, cosmetic bags, and duffle bags to blankets, pillows, and frames. We love how each item is truly unique.
