There's something truly magical about Mother Nature. Maybe it's our nomadic past or the increase of technology in our modern lives, but nothing has the healing or calming ability that the green goddess has. It's probably why homeowner and art collector Rodrigo Quadrado decided to build his entire home around it. The focal point of the living area is a well-established tree (lovingly referred to as Bethany) that reaches up to the sky through a 10-foot opening in the ceiling. "I wanted a house that had a serious footprint architecture, that was minimalist but not cold," he told Casa Vogue. Aside from looking spectacular, the tree also keeps the home cool, combatting the high temperatures of a Brazilian summer.
