Just like you have a go-to outfit for when you want to look and feel your best, certain foods can also give you that extra boost of confidence when you need it most. Whether you're getting married, going on a second date, interviewing for your dream job, or just want to feel your most confident, your diet can play an instrumental role.

As Jessica Cording, RDN, points out on Mindbodygreen, avoiding carbonated beverages, alcohol, cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower, and extremely salty or sugary foods will ward of bloating, water retention, and fatigue. If you've already indulged in any of the former, foods high in potassium like bananas, avocados, and cantaloupe can help counteract the salty stuff and soothe a bloated stomach.

Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, Cording crafted the ideal meal to eat on the morning of your big day: Poached eggs with cooked spinach and tomato topped with sliced avocado and a side of sweet potato wedges roasted in olive oil. This will give you a whopping 22 grams of protein to get you through the day, plus a hearty helping of healthy fats, fiber, and vitamin B to keep you full and energized. If you don't have the time to sit down in the morning, "try a smoothie made with baby spinach, banana, and your favorite protein powder … with water or unsweetened coconut water as your liquid base," she adds.
