From downtown to Brooklyn, New York is literally brimming with inspiring architecture. So it's only fitting that the city's residents want to decorate these historic interiors with a similar design flair. Homepolish designer Tali Roth (who loves a mismatched dining chair) and her husband Markus certainly did that with their two-bedroom Columbus Circle apartment. With her young son in mind, Roth fused her signature upscale style with the very practical needs of a family.
The end result is a glam yet cozy space with that enviable high/low mix of decadent designer furniture and IKEA. "I placed the white IKEA Besta units down the length of the living and dining room wall as I wanted to create a floor plan that welcomed people and was free flowing," she told Homepolish. Genius. But our favorite space is the living room that proves chic and comfort do go together.
Bright artwork is the perfect antidote to a monochrome interior.
Add that cozy feeling to an upscale room with texture.
A gallery wall adds spunk to a sophisticated dining space.
Blissful slumber is guaranteed in this neutral bedroom with a hint of gold.
