With the purchase of their new apartment, power couple George and Amal Clooney have officially put down permanent roots in New York City. The duo recently scooped a new home in the luxurious Midtown, Manhattan complex One Hundred East Fifty Third Street, according to Page Six. The building is the brainchild of renowned developer Aby Rosen and architect Norman Foster's Foster + Partners, and is set to be completed sometime next year. The Clooneys reportedly opted for a "high-floor residence" in the up-and-coming building, passing on the $65 million penthouse.
While George and Amal's specific apartment has yet to be revealed, the building website's "residence" section gives as a clue as to the apartment's layout and aesthetic. Floor-to-ceiling windows, a neutral color palette, and an open floor plan allows light to flood the spacious apartment, which is tastefully outfitted with minimalist décor. The building boasts hotel-like amenities, including a two-floor fine-dining restaurant and marketplace, a wellness facility, a 60-foot swimming pool, a sauna and steam room, yoga and Pilates studios, and a library. The luxury building is just blocks from the United Nations building, where Amal, an accomplished human rights lawyer, spends most of her time.
