Some of us may dream of spending the summer months beachside and barefoot. Others with more lavish taste probably dream of this.
Beginning in August, the former New York City home of Gianni Versace will be available for rent, and with it, the opportunity to live like fashion royalty. The Upper East Side townhouse, which was bought by a Swedish hedge fund manager in 2005, was purchased by Versace in 1993, a mere two years before his headline-making murder on the front steps of his Casa Casuarina property in Miami.
Versace's original Italian-style renovations remain much the same, so we're talking sweeping staircases and polished marble floors, twinkling chandeliers, and Baroque-style painted ceilings. Rent is $120,000 per month—there are 17 rooms, after all.
