Last October, the television rumor mill was churning with news that Gilmore Girls—the beloved WB show that chronicled the relationship between single mom Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory—could be making a comeback. The series ran for seven seasons, from 2000 to 2007, first on the WB and later on the CW. Yesterday, Netflix confirmed that a new season of the series would premiere later this year. The company took to Instagram to announce the news: “From Stars Hollow to Hartford to New Haven to Netflix. Welcome back, girls. An all-new season of Gilmore Girls is coming to Netflix in 2016," read the announcement. Much of the original cast will return, including Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, and Kelly Bishop. Show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is writing and directing the reboot. No news yet on what will happen to the lovable mother-daughter duo, but the revival will consist of four 90-minute episodes.
