Today, Google unveiled its latest creation—not a new smartphone or map service, but a brand-new identity. So why the new look? After all, the serif font of yore is rather iconic. According to Google’s blog post on the redesign, the reasoning is simple: “These days, people interact with Google products across many different platforms, apps and devices—sometimes all in a single day. … We’re introducing a new logo and identity family that reflects this reality and shows you when the Google magic is working for you, even on the tiniest screens.” Navigate to Google and you’ll see a sweet Doodle announcing the change.
