Photographer Gray Malin is known for his bright, crisp aerial photos of beaches and snowy peaks, but his latest collection—released just last week—is a departure from his normal bird’s-eye view, though it does still satisfy our unquenchable thirst for fantasy. Collaborating with one of his personal favorite destinations, Malin teamed up with the Jonathan Adler–designed Parker Palm Springs hotel to shoot a collection of animal-focused images that embody the quintessential dream weekend.
“These photographs evoke a sense of everyday getaway,” Malin says when asked about the new collection, entitled Gray Malin at the Parker. “They allow the viewer to be transported on a whimsical vacation without ever leaving their home.” The series of 14 images features a variety of wild animals enjoying the hotel’s enviable grounds, including penguins playing chess, baby giraffes nuzzling up to a rainbow of balloons, and flamingos basking in the sun by the pool. We’re loving the fun and colorful otherworldly images and see them working perfectly in nurseries and kids’ spaces. When admiring this bold, playful collection, it’s impossible not to smile.
