We imagine there are a plethora of you out there who plan on playing hostess this season. And the prepping stage can feel super daunting. After all, there are so many things to think about, from the menu to the guest list. One of the biggies? Selecting the right theme. The line between festive and over the top can be very thin. To ensure that our décor steers toward chic rather than campy, we took careful notes while attending Everything But the House’s holiday party. It was hosted by Simone LeBlanc, the expert on fine gift-wrapping and giving, so it’s an understatement to say that there was plenty of décor inspiration to go around.
The L.A. gathering of friends, industry cohorts, and influencers (from lifestyle blogger Geri Hirsch to hairstylist/makeup artist Joey Maalouf) exuded an atmosphere built on careful curation and tasteful holiday nostalgia. The European farmhouse–style setting had a modern yet rustic vibe, while the elegant tablescape felt perfectly autumnal, thanks to a color palette of reds and deep greens. As for party favors, every attendee received a gift box of vintage-inspired pieces from Everything But the House handmade by Simone LeBlanc herself. Need more decorating ideas? Guests gathered around the long communal table for drinks before the food was served.
The flowers were arranged in a runner-like fashion, keeping things festive but making it easy for guests to see and speak to each other across the table.
Blogger Geri Hirsch was in attendance wearing an all-white ensemble.
Keep things minimal when setting your table.
Masha Gordon and Katie Nehra were also in attendance.
