Just a week after actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow tied the knot with director-producer Brad Falchuk, the pair have jetted off to Europe on honeymoon. The newlyweds have remained tight-lipped about their plans, but Paltrow broke the silence over the weekend and shared the first picture of their romantic escape.
It appears the first destination on their honeymoon was Umbria, a region bordering Tuscany, Lazio, and Le Marche, known for its medieval towns and exceptional wines. Paltrow posted a picture of what appears to be the Italian countryside, with the caption "Umbrian sunset." Vogue points out that Italy seems to be a favorite destination for the couple, who visited Umbria in 2017 and were spotted yachting in Capri this summer.
Though we don't know much more about their plans in Italy, the pair was close to a number of romantic towns, including Castelluccio. The 13th-century village in Umbria's Apennine Mountains is best known for its incredible sunsets and vivid flowers in spring. They were also close to Assisi, a beautiful hilltop town just a few miles east of Umbria's capital, Perugia.
Next up, the couple traveled to Paris. Paltrow took to Instagram to share a picture of their hotel, the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris. The five-star hotel is one of the most expensive in the world, and costs around $17,000 a night, Hello Magazine reports. She shared images of their lavish suite on Instagram Stories, revealing a marble and crystal bathroom with a Turkish bath, separate living room, and plush bedroom.
The couple needn't leave the hotel to dine well—the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris is the only palace in Europe to house three Michelin-starred restaurants. No doubt, the couple are making the most of every moment.
