It's always a treat to get a glimpse inside the homes of the industry's top designers and the fashion elite, but when the tastemaker extraordinaire that is Gwyneth Paltrow invites you in to sneak a peek at her place of dwelling, it's a whole new level of excitement. GP opened her doors to photographer Björn Wallander to share photos of her impeccably-appointed NYC apartment, which she published on her website Goop. And as you can image, her TriBeCa abode does not disappoint. The Manhattan space was a labor of love between Paltrow and her favorite husband-wife designer duo, Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch of Roman and Williams—she also enlisted the firm to construct her goop mrkt pop-up during its stint in NYC.
The light and airy space flawlessly melds a modern approach (like the bright white marble kitchen) with antique accents (see the living room swing made from a repurposed Indian door). The grand foyer is especially inviting, and the rest of the apartment follows suit with white and neutral décor. Of the space, Standefer explains, “It’s the classical marble Chesney’s fireplace paired with a Venini light fixture, the hand-painted wallpaper in one room with the hand-embroidered wallpaper in the next, it’s paper and fabrics and flowers. We worked carefully together on the palette and the textures to create the sense of refinement.”
