How This Stylish Mum Is Styling Her New Family Home

Updated 11/12/17

We love peeking inside the homes of Australia's most stylish women. Looking at how women with different lives style their most intimate and important interior spaces can't help but leave you feeling inspired and eager to implement their styling hacks in your own home.

So, we asked three Australian creative influencers—whose fashion sense has garnered each an army of followers—to throw open their front doors and give us a tour of their homes. The beauty of our three-part Her Domain video series in partnership with ECOYA is that each of the featured women have very different styles, which have informed their approaches to decorating very different homes—there's something for everyone here.

For the second instalment in the series, we sat down for tea with Rachelle Rowlings from our INF / Network—who has just moved her growing family from Sydney's eastern suburbs to a bigger house on the southern coast—to talk about what makes a house a home.

When we met with the self-proclaimed "Mummy Instagrammer", she explained that when looking for a new home, her real estate search was focused on houses with good bones to act as a clean, functional canvas for the family to project their bright personalities onto. We can just picture the sunny family celebrations that will take place on that decked area in the backyard. Bliss.

Keep scrolling to watch the tour of Rowlings' new home and to discover the best styling tips we learned from her space.

"The bathroom I feel has split personalities because in one sense it's chaos washing Roman [my son], and at the other end it's about me shutting the door [and] having a bath. I can have that 20 minutes or an hour just to myself. There's nothing that a good plant, a candle, and some towels can't make feel homely."
"The kitchen, to me, is the heart of the household. It's the central part, it's where you're preparing all the meals. I love this kitchen because of the fact that I can be entertaining outside, so close to the outdoor space, as well as the dining area."
"When we saw this place and it had a pool and it had this beautiful outdoor area, you can come home and it's like your own little oasis. We can make as much noise as we want, and Roman can run around naked... It's just going to be a place where we make so many memories."
