We all know that great deals can be found at Target, but what we didn't know is that there a few seriously sneaky tricks you can use to get an even greater deal on those affordable finds in your red shopping cart. Prepare to have your mind blown.
||1. KNOW WHEN TO SHOP
If you're shopping for a particular item, use this unofficial markdown schedule as a guide for when to shop for your items.
Monday: Baby items, children's clothing, electronics, and office supplies/gift wrap/stationery
Tuesday: Home décor, women's clothing, and domestic items
Wednesday: Food, health and beauty items, men's clothing, toys, and garden items
Thursday: Lingerie, housewares, sporting goods, shoes, and luggage
Friday: Cosmetics, jewelry, hardware, automotive, and home improvement
||2. READ PRICE TAGS CLOSELY
If an item ends in a $0.06 or $0.08, it will be price down again, as long as there is inventory in the store. If it ends in $0.04, it is final clearance and won't be further reduced. If it ends in another digit, it is simply on clearance and the number has no specific meaning.
||3. RETURN EVERY TWO WEEKS
Target works on a two-week markdown schedule, with items reduced by 15%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%. Every two weeks, unsold clearance items are reduced to the next increment. So if you have your eye on a particular item, such as this Moroccan Shag Pouf, return in 14 days to see if it has been marked down again.
||4. SHOP THE SEASON
Holiday decor, back-to-school gear, summer essentials, and other seasonal merchandise are usually reduced at a much faster rate than the standard two weeks. These items will usually begin in clearance at 50%, and then they'll be to 70% off and 90% off.
