IKEA is just about as much of a household name, and as ingrained in our intimate lives, as a furniture store gets (um, did you know that one in 10 Europeans are conceived on an IKEA bed?!).
The Swedish retailer’s new 2016 catalog makes perfect sense then. Themed “The Little Things That Matter,” the new offerings center around life, shared moments, and a happy home life focused in and around the kitchen, celebrating how food—traditions passed down, preparations during holidays, gatherings of friends and family—brings us together.
"Never before have we been more aware of wanting to feel well. And while making healthier choices is a big part of that, feeling well is also linked to family and friends," asserts the new catalog. IKEA's 2016 offerings will include solutions for not only cooking and serving food but also for growing and storing it. According to IKEA, "This year, we’re showcasing how food connects people, and what makes life in and around the kitchen work in harmony."
