IKEA's 75th-Anniversary Collection Is a Vintage Lover's Dream

Believe it or not, 75 years have passed since Ingvar Kamprad founded IKEA from his uncle's kitchen table. In celebration, the iconic Swedish retailer is launching a limited-edition vintage collection dubbed GRATULERA, which celebrates IKEA design throughout the years. August 2018 will re-introduce a collection of classics from the 1950s and 1960s era, while October will showcase colorful icons from the 1970s and 1980s. Finally, December will welcome minimalist must-haves from the 1990s and 2000s. "Each launch is very different, signifying its time period; from dark woods with a classic expression, to a very playful style with strong colors, and then to a more minimal look with natural light woods and graphic colors," said Karin Gustavsson, creative leader or IKEA of Sweden, in a press release. "We must admit, we’ve missed them quite a bit, and hope you have too." While the GRATULERA products will only be available to shop in stores in August, October, and December of 2018, get a sneak peek of the vintage revival pieces below.
