Insider Secret: Obelisks

With slight tapering and a signature pyramid top, obelisks have a multidimensional appeal. They offer a great form for showcasing beautiful stones or detailed paintwork. Decorators have been using obelisks forever to add visual interest to mantles, coffee tables, and consoles. Though they date back to ancient Egypt, their simplicity invites interpretation. We're especially loving Jonathan Adler's lucite interpretations and Kuhn Keramik's cheeky porcelain version. With such a timeless shape, you really can't go wrong.
