Confession: We use Instagram as our interior designer (these apps are great too). We already treat the visual platform as a personal stylist and travel guide, so why not consult it when designing our homes too? Aside from fueling our wanderlust and our wardrobes, the popular social network provides major room inspiration with a highly curated feed of covetable spaces from around the world.

From the cool-girl style of Sweden to the bright kitchens in Australia, we glean decorating tips, homeware brands, trends, and even paint ideas from the platform. It's also where we found IKEA stylist Pella Hedeby (who you should definitely follow if you love Scandinavian design).

When it comes to our Instagram, we only share the best of the best with you, our dear readers, and while you typically love them all, there are some that you double-tapped more than others. So in honor of our favorite feed (yes, we're biased), we bring you the rooms that seriously blew up in 2016. Because we love a nostalgic throwback. Happy hearting!

With the natural light pouring in through the arched window, messy bed sheets that are just asking to be crawled into, and a minimalistic aesthetic, it's little wonder this room was the most double-tapped boudoir of all time. Designed by Australian design firm, Robson Rak Architects (who also designed this modern Melbourne home) we think this cozy interior would induce the dreamiest slumber, ever.

If there's one kitchen trend that really stood out this year it was the blue-colored variety. From Nina Dobrev's pastel perfection to this indigo hue by Studio Muir, the royal tone really made an impact in the kitchen. But there's more to this space than the stunning hue. That marble bar with the timber bar stools and elegant globe pendant lights are a recipe for delight and major double-tapping. If you love this look, these budget-friendly tips will get your started.

Pantone called it and you obsessed over it. Yep, 2016 was definitely the year when blush became the new black. This stunning room only has a hint of it, but it was enough for you to like it 13,000 times and counting. It's as our contributing editor, Jonathan Steinitz wrote: "Consider it the new neutral for your home, with dustier versions of the color spanning trends all four seasons." This interior is definitely in bloom.

Blue kitchen—Nina Dobrev

When Nina Dobrev invited us into her 1929 Spanish-style Hollywood home, we knew we were in for a treat, but boy did it exceed our expectations and some. The actress clearly has skills that go beyond the screen. Working closely with Consort Design, Dobrev crafted a stylish abode that fused luxury with California cool. The kitchen is our favorite room and you loved it too, liking it over 12,000 times.

What did we tell you? Blue kitchens really dominated in 2016 and it's easy to see why. Case in point: Brooklyn Decker's Austin ranch-style home. This space has everything going for it. Exposed beams, check. Marble details, check. Gold hardware, check. Blue timber cabinets, check. Vintage framed art (hung the cool way), check. This is how you do it.

If there's one item every stylish bathroom should have (according to Instagram) it's a freestanding tub. Just about every restroom that you've really loved (that we posted) has had one. Not only do they look amazing but they also make bathtime so much more indulgent and luxe. Clearly, this family agreed with us when they worked with Homepolish to make over their bathroom. It's so glam.

When we said blush was the new black in 2016, we meant it. This striking San Francisco dining room is a great example of how you can infuse the subtle tone into a space. The soft pink accent wall adds an elegance flair and sweet ladylike detail. "We wanted to keep its soul alive, and not turn it into a white box," Homepolish interior designer Annouchka Engel told MyDomaine. "We wanted the house to have its quirks and personality while having a more efficient use of the space." Consider your goals met.
