Update, January 19, 2018:
Just four days after confirming the birth of her and Kanye West's baby girl via surrogate, Kim Kardashian West is divulging more details about the newest member of their family. This afternoon, Kardashian West took to her Instagram story to announce the name they chose: Chicago West, after Kanye's home city.
The graphic Kim shared is in the same style of the announcement post she shared on Tuesday, which read, "She's Here!" in bold, black lettering on a light pink background. Considering the West's are known for their affinity for nontraditional baby names, we can't say we're surprised by their unique choice.
January 16, 2018:
Congratulations to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West! The couple just welcomed a baby girl via surrogate, Us Weekly reports. Kardashian West took to her exclusive app at 12:47 a.m. on January 15 to announce the news, also sharing the baby's weight of seven pounds, six ounces.
"Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl," reads her official announcement. "We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister. Love, Kim Kardashian West."
Kim and Kanye decided to use a surrogate for baby number three due to Kardashian's experience with preeclampsia and placenta accreta, a life-threatening condition that plagued both of her pregnancies with North and Saint. Kardashian confirmed her decision to hire a surrogate in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Congratulations to the growing family of five. Shop Kimye-approved nursery décor below.
