Last night, a gunman opened fire on an outdoor music festival from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel and casino, killing at least 58 people and injuring countless others. The attack is now considered one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history as well as a searing reminder of the egregious lack of gun control in our country. Whether you were personally affected by the tragedy or want to offer your support to the victims, Huffington Post has outlined a few ways to take action. Below, read up on how you can donate blood and/or money, help those affected locate their loved ones, and speak to your local representatives about gun control:
To locate loved ones: Call (866) 535-5654 or head to the family reunification center at the metro headquarters in Las Vegas: 400 S. MLK Blvd., Building B.
To donate blood: The United Blood Services is hosting blood drives at 6930 West Charleston in Las Vegas and at 601 Whitney Ranch Drive in Henderson.
To donate money: The Southern Nevada chapter of the American Red Cross is accepting donations online, by phone at (702) 369-3674, and by mail at 1771 E. Flamingo Road, #206B, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89119.
To take action against gun violence: Identify your senator and local representative and visit Contact the Congress to voice your opinion on gun control today. Alternatively, you can reach the House of Representatives switchboard at (202) 224-3121.
