Lauren Conrad is the first to admit that the moment the weather gets chilly, she craves comfort food. But she doesn't always want to counter her gym efforts by eating pasta dishes every night. As she puts it, "Since I do like to fit into my New Year's Eve party outfit, I try to resist carb loading every night." This spaghetti squash recipe lets you have both: a seemingly indulgent, cozy meal and a bloat-free figure for New Year's.
1 spaghetti squash
Salt and pepper, to taste
Any other veggies or nuts you'd like
Cut your spaghetti squash lengthwise and remove all of the seeds. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and bake spaghetti squash for 30–40 minutes. Once you can easily puncture your squash with a sharp knife, let it cool and then use a fork to scrape the insides. Heat olive oil in a large skillet and add your spaghetti squash. Season to your liking and serve with the toppings of your choosing. Conrad prefers hers simple—with only marinara and basil.
