Experience
After writing for her university's newspaper and women's magazine, Lauren fell in love with lifestyle journalism. She started her career as a copy editor and writer for Alabama Weddings Magazine before joining Dotdash Meredith as a digital editorial fellow. It was this experience that really honed her skills as a writer and editor and helped her land her first full-time job at EatingWell as an assistant digital editor.
Following a nearly two-year stint at Dotdash Meredith, Lauren joined the team at VERANDA to help grow the brand's digital presence. She tackled everything from breaking news to SEO content. As a freelance writer and editor, Lauren contributes to brands such as Well + Good, Food & Wine, EatingWell, VERANDA, Tasting Table, and House & Garden (U.K.), among others.
Education
Lauren attended The University of Alabama, where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor's in Journalism and minors in Food & Nutrition and English. Throughout college, she was on staff at the university newspaper, The Crimson White, as well as the women's collegiate magazine Alice, which led her to pursue a career in lifestyle journalism. During her senior year, she held two editorial internships: one at The Tuscaloosa News and the other at StyleBlueprint Birmingham.
