Now in its fifth year, the annual Legends of La Cienega event is the centerpiece of the west coast's spring design calendar--a three-day whirlwind of elaborate window installations by such designers as Architectural Digest regular Cliff Fong and celebrity favorite Kelly Wearstler, and thought-provoking panels with the likes of All The Best blogger Ronda Rice Carman (who will appear in conversation with Domaine Editorial Director Mat Sanders this Friday at Harbinger). And let's not forget the epic parties--reason enough to lure industry heavyweights from across the country to converge on the vintage furniture and luxe textiles-rich shopping mecca that is the La Cienega Design Quarter. "The difference with LCDQ versus most design centers is that it's basically where Main Street, USA meets the design of the world," says LCDQ president and noted antiquarian Lee Stanton. "It's made up of smaller businesses run by people who are truly inspired by the business--and they want to educate their consumers." We caught up with some of the district's most notable talents to get their off-the-cuff takes on the industry happening, check out what they had to say above. Make sure to follow the LCDQ action through the eyes of attendees at domainehome.com/lcdqla, where we'll be showcasing revelers' social media, and adding more behind-the-scenes videos in the coming days.
