Just when you thought the Big Little Lies series couldn't get any better, it's been announced that Meryl Streep will join Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Zoë Kravitz, and the rest of the talented cast for season two of the hit HBO series, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress will play Mary Louise Wright, mother of the Perry Wright (the abusive husband of Kidman's character, played by Alexander Skarsgård). According to the publication, "Streep's Mary Louise Wright is described as a woman who is concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following [spoiler alert] her son Perry's death."
After season one of the TV series won eight Emmys and four Golden Globes, the much-anticipated second season has officially been greenlit for seven episodes. Along with Streep's character, sources say that season two will also feature the parents of Zoë Kravitz's character, Bonnie.
