This three-story Victorian terrace in Sydney, Australia, was transformed into a stunning family home in just five months. Owners Matthew Wakelin and his wife Erin decided to project-manage the renovation themselves, saving almost US$300,000. The result is a charming, light-filled residence with a large living area and an extensive backyard, which also includes a studio. To accomodate for their three growing children, the couple's renovation included a second bathroom and bigger dining and kitchen area. But the biggest change was to the lighting, with large-scale windows installed wherever possible to ensure plenty of natural sunlight beams through the space.
