When I met Molly Sims at the World of Hyatt and Chase event at downtown Manhattan's oculus center, I was immediately struck by her warmth—talking to a '90s supermodel-turned-actress who had once graced the covers of Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Marie Claire turned out to be surprisingly casual.
While today, her career spills into the lifestyle, health, and travel spaces as propelled by her YouTube channel, personal blog, and social media following, the mother of three is as refreshingly relatable and down to earth as ever. Aside from discussing our mutual love of Babybel cheese, our matching conch piercings, and her favorite thing about the newly launched New World of Hyatt Chase credit card (in her words, it allows you to "be rewarded for being healthy while traveling"), the frequent flier shared the travel essentials that she won't board an airplane without.
Read up on her six picks below.
Sims quite literally gushed about this cult-favorite French product, point-blank telling me, "It will change your skin." Though it smells like vinegar, the elusive product has universally charmed the beauty elite, calling Emily Weiss, Garance Doré, and countless others fans. "It works for acne, for brightening; it's so good," Sims adds.
No in-flight skincare checklist is complete without a facial mist. Sims, along with 989 Sephora customers, swear by Tatcha's skin mist for a dewy, refreshing pick-me-up.
As far as makeup removal goes, Sims is a new fan of Milk Makeup's Micellar Water Makeup Remover Wipes, which are biodegradable and gentle on the skin. "I just started using the Milk micellar water travel packets; the silver ones. Those are fantastic," Sims said. "You can easily pop them in your bag, and they look good."
Sims's go-to healthy snack, both on the plane and off, is a handful of almonds (her 3-year-old daughter, Scarlett, loves them, too). With fiber, protein, and healthy omega-3 fats, almonds will keep you full and satiated for hours to come, making them a perfect, no-mess airplane snack.
"I'll take almond butter [with me]," she said, adding that she "loves" Justin's almond butter travel packets. She pairs a packet with a banana for a healthy, filling snack.
"I love my nut thins!" she gushed, which are gluten-free crackers made with California rice flour and almonds.
