Naomi Watts might be a multi–award-winning actress, goodwill ambassador, and Hollywood A-lister, but when it comes to interior design she admits all she wants is a relaxed, unassuming place to call home. Given her red carpet style, it's no surprise that when Watts teamed up with Ashe + Leandro to renovate her new TriBeCa apartment, the results were fabulous. Our favorite feature? Her dining table alternative.
"You don't always want to have a gargantuan table to sit at for just four people so we put the little booth in which was really nice," Watts told Architectural Digest. The wooden booth sits off to the side of the kitchen, creating a casual dining space that's intimate and built for simple family meals. Upholstered with deep red leather, the booth ties back seamlessly with the dove grey kitchen cabinets and tiled floor. These small touches make the New York City duplex feel inviting and unpretentious, which was important to Watts. "When you walk into this house you think, Wow, this is mine? It’s impressive but it doesn’t feel so imposing or too grand and fancy. It feels like a real home."
