Is there anything more romantic than swapping your urban home for a life on the sea? Not really. While most of us continue dreaming, one family made it happen. When Gabe Cohen and Jolie Signorile, co-founders of Brooklyn design company Fredericks & Mae, first spotted this houseboat three years ago, it was in desperate need of repair. But they joined forces with six other friends and transformed it into a stylish seafaring home with modern luxuries and all the creature comforts of home. The boat is now permanently docked on Rockaway Beach, Queens, and has a stairwell that leads to a two-tiered roof that can host parties of up to 120 people.
