On a unusually rainy LA day, lifestyle blogger extraordinaire Joy Cho of
Oh Joy!, invited style-savvy party people to a festive spring fête to celebrate the launch of her
new line of entertaining essentials at Target. Despite the monsoon, the attendees--including such tastemakers as
Mrs. Lilien,
Emily Henderson, and
Bri Emery--were treated to a colorful, flower-filled garden party...indoors. "The essence of spring to me is all about pretty, soft colors and flowers aplenty," Cho describes. Through the use of Cho's fresh line of décor and serving pieces, the bright and happy party perfectly captured this warm and inviting sensibility, despite the unplanned surroundings.

Undeterred by the gray day, the event was awash in color, flowers, and happy accents. "The theme of my collection is inspired by a modern garden party, and I wanted to help someone create a beautiful spring party no matter where they were or what the weather was like," Cho says. With a harmonious palette of sherbert and aqua tones highlighted by golden accents, the happy-chic color palette can be easily mixed and matched for varying unique looks.

When it comes to unique entertaining ideas, Cho is a pro. "I love using cups, goblets, and glasses to hold flowers, crudité, snacks, and other party-perfect foods," Cho describes. "That way you can easily arrange food and décor in clusters and spread them across the room for guests to enjoy throughout the space."

When using this collection for entertaining, you would be hard pressed not to create an atmosphere of warm-weather revelry. As Cho perfectly describes, "The party ended up still feeling so bright, fresh, and festive. It really showed how you can make any space fun even on a dreary day."
