For most of us, no piece of bread or bowl of pasta can go without an extra drizzle (or two or three) of olive oil. With its robust flavor and buttery texture, olive oil has become a kitchen staple for food lovers everywhere. Plus it’s loaded with monounsaturated fatty acids—the kind of good fat that helps improve one’s cardiovascular health. Nutrition aside, it’s delicious on basically everything—including vanilla ice cream.
That’s right. This sublime marriage of two of our favorite things is a match made in culinary heaven. It’s also an easy, elegant dessert to whip up in a pinch for a dinner party. The key is to use a high-quality variety for a peppery kick that will take from kitchen sink to Michelin-starred restaurant. Top it all off with a sprinkle of (again) high-quality sea salt along with any other toppings you’d like. And we promise, your guests will be licking their bowls clean.
