As the East Coast braces for snow, today seems like the perfect time for Pottery Barn to announce its latest collaboration—one that will make spring seem a little bit closer. The décor brand has teamed up with none other than Australian designer and horticulturist Jamie Durie, a master of merging indoor and outdoor spaces.

"Australians are experts at soaking up the great outdoors, and I think Americans also share a deep love for nature, but in the U.S., there seems to be a greater separation between indoors and outdoors," Durie tells MyDomaine. "So I created this collection to bridge the gap with my 'Transterior' philosophy and feel that these pieces will help customers reconnect with the outdoors just a little more than they have in past seasons."

If you only buy one piece from the new line, Durie says the upholstered armchair is a standout. "For me, this piece is luxurious lounge seating, but it's also inviting. It offers the same comfort level and high-quality finishes that you'd expect from an indoor lounge but allows you to rest and enjoy the atmosphere of the outdoors," he says.
