Created for summer 2019, the collaboration includes highly saturated patterns and prints that evoke the jovial, carefree spirit of the season. Shooting in Florida, Gretchen Clark, the Senior Vice President of Creative for Pottery Barn Brands, explains that they were inspired by Pulitzer's beach lifestyle. "Since the brand was founded in Florida, we knew it would be the perfect location for the shoot," she tells MyDomaine.

Here, you can see a hint of what's to come in the latest collection. Rich colors and playful patterns adorn beach towels both large and small so you'll be prepared for everything summer throws at you.

The poolside backdrop of the photo shoot perfectly captures how the creative teams behind the products envision them coming to life. While the new collection will include items for inside the home, the spirit of the line is sunny, like a day at the beach.

"Lilly Pulitzer can work for everyone in any home," according to Mira Fain, EVP of Product Design and Development for Lilly Pulitzer. "As Lilly would offer prints from 'mild to wild,'" she continues. So whether you're more of a minimalist or you're an experimental maximalist, the line will have something for everyone.

"We loved having models on set with us to showcase the playfulness of the collection and capture the joy of spending time with family and friends in a warm and colorful setting," Clark says. In this shot, two models are seen with a cheery pink and turquoise-colored beach towel that's suggestive of what else you can expect from the new line. It's all about the colors and patterns.

"The prints you see in the collection were painted by the Lilly Pulitzer print studio and were brought to life with a few special topics for inspiration—our 60th-anniversary celebration, our Palm Beach heritage, and optimism," according to Fain.

While the shoot itself was inspired by the beach lifestyle that Lilly Pulitzer is known for, the collaboration was influenced by the brand's history and memorable impact. "We were inspired by 60 years of love for Lilly Pulitzer and the joy it has brought to generations of families," Fain explains. "This collection infuses that same joy into the sunny prints, patterns, and products for all ages," she adds.

This shot fits perfectly encapsulates the intentions of the collection as two people sit in lounge chairs under an umbrella by the pool, experiencing the joy that comes with relaxing with good company.

When it comes to the actual design of the products, it was truly a collaborative process between the Pottery Barn and Lilly Pulitzer teams. "The colors used in the prints and patterns are custom-developed by the Lilly team and shared with Pottery Barn through our collaborative design process," Fain indicates. "Pottery Barn has applied their truly expert eye to the products in each brand," she continues.

As for what the teams are most excited about, it's the new bath collection that will include shower curtains, embroidered bath towels, stylish canisters, toothbrush holders, and more, according to Fain. "It was incredible to see the response to the initial launch last year and the team rose to the challenge to go bigger, brighter, and sunnier."

Be sure to check out the collaboration at Pottery Barn when it drops March 15. It will propel you (and your home) straight into summer.
