I should begin by being honest—I am a summer lover. Summer is undoubtedly my favorite time of year, with its late, humid nights and dips in the pool and burgers roasting away on the grill. But this year, when the night started arriving a little earlier and I began getting stuck behind school buses once again, I found that I wasn't as upset as usual. I was actually beginning to welcome fall for the first time, feeling more hopeful than saddened to release the summer season and see all of the joy that autumn could bring.
As a self-proclaimed home décor lover (and decorating-obsessed), I, of course, took the changing season as a sign to do some redecorating. I resonate with the warm tones that come with fall decorating, excitedly welcoming deep ambers and toasty browns into my décor scheme. And though there are a ton of shopping options for standard fall décor, I took the liberty of choosing a few products that I'm using this year to turn my space into my fall mood board that are timeless, affordable, and editor-approved.
If you're already missing summer (like me) but want to fall into this season head-first, then allow me to help.
Pampas grass is a tried and true addition to your home, adding an earthy element that is always welcome. I was particularly drawn to this Amazon offering because of its fall color scheme, perfect to swap in for this time of year.
I gasped seeing this cute ghost—I was so taken back by how adorable, yet utterly chic, it is. This figurine took a fresh spin on the traditional white ghost by carving it out of tiger's eye crystal, giving it that autumnal glow.
This pumpkin pillow rose to fame last fall, and the great thing about the continuation of the trend is that there are offerings just about everywhere now. This one from Amazon is perfectly plush and festive, plus, there are plenty of other neutral colors to choose from.
An overlooked spot to embrace a bit of fall festivity is your kitchen. From candles to these cute tea towels, there are plenty of ways to let your kitchen in on the fall fun.
What is cozy season without a great throw blanket? I opted for this warm brown option that could be easily swapped into any living room or bedroom.
Rounding out my list of absolute fall essentials is a great candle. I'm not the biggest fan of overly sweet, pumpkin-inspired scents, but I love this candle offering called "Sweater Weather" with notes of woods, warm spice, and citrus.
