3 Quick, Easy Snack Recipes That Are Actually Quick and Easy

Sometimes we love to spend hours in the kitchen whipping up intricate (read: Instagrammable) dishes for our friends and family members. Key word being “sometimes”—because most of the time we barely have time to follow a simple recipe, much less bake a mouthwatering loaf of bread from scratch. Which is unfortunate—we’re sure you’ll agree that hot, fresh bread with a golden crisp crust and a soft, flavourful interior is the ultimate comfort food.

Enter: ACE Bakery® Bake Your Own™ lineup. That’s right—the ACE bakery favourites you know and love are now available in the frozen aisle at your local grocery store, meaning there’s a lot less time and hassle involved in sliding hot, fresh artisanal bread across the dinner table. In celebration of this stress-saving culinary development, we’ve rounded up three quick, easy recipes to add to your repertoire, each of which uses a frozen ACE Bakery product as your base.

Creamy Italian Baked Egg Dip

1 ACE Bakery Bake Your Own White Demi Baguette
8 oz. cream cheese
½ cup sour cream
½ tsp onion powder
1 tsp. oregano
¼ tsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp. red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup marinara
3 Tbsp. milk
½ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
4 eggs
1 pinch salt, to taste
1 pinch black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp. basil fresh and chopped

1. Bake ACE Bakery Bake Your Own White Demi Baguette as per package directions, and let cool.

2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

3. Lightly spray an 8-inch pan or skillet with cooking spray. Place your skillet on a baking sheet.

4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, onion powder, oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (optional), and spread in the bottom of the skillet.

5. Top the cream cheese mixture with marinara sauce. Drizzle the sauce with milk, and sprinkle with fresh Parmesan.

6. Make 4 indentations in the Parmesan with the back of a spoon, and gently crack the eggs into the indentations. Be careful not to break the yolks. Season the top of the eggs with salt and pepper to taste.

7. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the egg whites are opaque and not runny, and the yolks are cooked to desired doneness.

Brie, Apple, and Honey Crostini

1 ACE Bakery Bake Your Own White Demi Baguette
Apple butter
100 g. brie
1 large apple
Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
¼ cup regular or candied pecans, chopped
Honey, for drizzling over crostini

1. Bake ACE Bakery Bake Your Own White Demi Baguette as per package directions. Let cool on wire rack when baking is complete.

2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

3. Slice the baguette into ¼-inch to ½-inch slices. Spread apple butter on one side of the baguette slices (about 1–2 teaspoons per slice). Place the baguette slices on a lined baking sheet.

4. Slice brie into thin slices, and place on top of each crostini. Place baking sheet in the oven, and bake for 8–10 minutes (or until brie is bubbly and melted).

5. While the crostini is in the oven, cut the apples into thin slices, removing the core. Squeeze lemon juice over the apple slices to keep them from browning.

6. Remove the crostini from the oven, and top with apple slices. Sprinkle regular or candied pecans evenly over the crostini, and drizzle with honey.

7. Return to oven for 1–1 ½ minutes. Serve immediately.
