Raina Penchansky, the co-founder and chief strategy officer of Digital Brand Architects (DBA), the agency that represents top bloggers and influencers like Aimee Song and Shea Marie, is one of the most inspiring women in media. We caught up with her shortly after her participation in Create and Cultivate's Dallas conference and got to ask the entrepreneur about her motive for founding such an innovative company and what keeps her inspired across digital media platforms.

MYDOMAINE: What is DBA and why did you start it?
Raina Penchansky: DBA is a talent management company that focuses on people creating content in the digital space. We manage influencers in all of their day-to-day endeavors and specialize in digital brand development.
MD: How did you decide to go for it and start your own company?
RP: My partner Karen Robinovitz was the architect of the original idea. I was living in NY at the time and we would walk along the West Side Highway in the early mornings and talk about our vision for what talent management looks like in a digital world. It took a major leap of faith but we knew there was something there and just went for it. We didn’t start DBA with the intention of creating a big business; It was more rooted in our love of content and organic brand development.
MD: What advice do you have for someone who just starting their own brand?
RP: Be able to describe your brand or what you are doing succinctly. When an idea becomes too complicated and is trying to solve too many problems it becomes difficult to execute.
MD: Who is your favorite woman on Instagram right now? On Snapchat?
RP: I think Busy Philips' Instagram is amazing. It’s funny and endearing, and you get a glimpse into her life that makes you smile. Snapchat is a toss-up between our client Jamie Beck and Kate Hudson.
MD: What was the hardest part about financing your company?
RP: The hardest part of securing financing is the process. When you first start a company you’re just doing anything you can to keep your head above water and not really focusing on being organized with your finances, but the minute you start to think about raising money you have to have everything in order and know your business inside and out.
MD: · What accomplishment are you most proud of?
RP: Staying true to our vision since day one. It was important to know when to pivot and be nimble in our decision making but we never let people steer us away from what we knew we wanted to accomplish.
MD: Who do you look up to?
RP: I look up to my mother because she’s unwavering in her convictions.
MD: Words to live by?
RP: Assume positive intent and less is more, until more is more.
