Before you take a gander at the newest Restoration Hardware in West Hollywood, The Gallery on Melrose Avenue, rethink any ideas you have of what makes a store a store. The recently unveiled 40,000-square-foot space in the heart of the West Hollywood Design District is an entirely new retail concept. “Our vision is to create an environment that blurs the lines between residential and retail, interiors and exteriors, offline and online, and celebrates the creative spirit of the West Hollywood Design District,” says RH Chairman & CEO Gary Friedman.
Inside the gallery you’ll find Restoration Hardware’s usual suspects, including simplified linen furnishing, glamorous lighting, and masculine leather pieces, but you’ll also find a showroom for Ben Soleimani’s rug collection, an interior design studio, and a Bellocq organic tea atelier.
The store’s layout also features rooms modelled after real homes, so instead of viewing all the sofas in one place and all the beds together, you can see how the pieces work together in a truer setting. Trust us, these spaces are so well-appointed that you’ll want to move right in.
The most impressive feature of The Gallery is without a doubt the rooftop garden located on the third floor. A grove of olive trees shades 10,000 square feet of space, showcasing the outdoor collection. With a striking view of the Hollywood Hills, and a reproduction of the Winged Victory of Samothrace crowning the building, it’s a space unlike any other.
