Starting June 30, you'll be able to take your glass of rosé with a handful of rosé-flavored gummy bears on the side, thank you very much. Thanks to the godsend that is Sugarfina candy shop on Manhattan's Upper East Side, rosé gummy bears now exist, and naturally, people are going crazy for them. According to DNA Info, the waiting list for these grown-up gummy bears is currently 350 people deep and growing.
The gummies will be made with Whispering Angel Rosé and come in two flavors and shapes: Rosé All Day in a gummy bear shape and Yes Way Rosé in a rose shape, according to Sugarfina spokeswoman Annie Worthington. Thankfully, the Beverly Hills–based company already sells a variety of delicious candies, including "top shelf" treats such as interlocking chocolate wedding rings from Greece, Italian gummies infused with rosewater syrup, and a crowd-pleaser: champagne bears infused with Dom Pérignon (I've had them, and they're as amazing as they sound). Candies can be purchased in bulk or in assorted "bento boxes" that customers create themselves.
"Sugarfina candies are unlike anything sold anywhere else—75 percent of our collection is exclusive to Sugarfina and can't be found anywhere else in the U.S.," said co-owner Rose O'Neil, who formerly worked for Barbie. Together with former video game developer Josh Resnick, O'Neil opened their first Sugarfina location in Beverly Hills, and they have plans to expand their franchise to 16 more locations by the end of July.
Would you add Sugarfina's champagne bears to your Fourth of July celebration? What flavored gummies would you like to see next?
