Sandra Bullock knows real estate. Not only has the actress maintained a wildly successful career in the entertainment industry, but she's also used her resources to invest in some seriously covetable properties. Just last year Bullock turned a profit on her West Hollywood bungalow and now, she's turning her attention to a vacation home in Georgia.
The actress has owned the estate located on Tybee Island, a small city near Savannah known for its gorgeous beaches, for the last 18 years, but, according to Top Ten Real Estate Deals, she's ready to part with the beach home. Bullock recently listed the property for $6.5 million and one look at the home's proximity to a strip of private white sand beach explains why it's worth such a steep price tag.
An ideal vacation house, the estate features traditional plantation-style architecture surrounded by tall palm trees and lush greenery. Spanning nearly three acres of land, the sweeping property easily sleeps up to 12 people, which is why Bullock was able to rent out the home at a rate of $1400 per night. Along with seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, the estate includes a game room, a gym, a basketball court, a guest house, and a large pool in the backyard (just in case the walk to the beach is too far).
The space is decked out in airy, beach-inspired décor fit for a vacation home. Think natural materials, light linens, and white furnishings for a relaxed and bright aesthetic. Ready for the full tour? Keep scrolling for a look inside Bullock's dreamy vacation home.
The main house is quite the sight to walk up to. It's a multi-level plantation-style home fitting of its location in Georgia. The exterior paint reflects the lively color of the greenery that surrounds the property, creating a soothing and inviting effect.
Tall ceilings make the living room in the main house feel expansive. Windows on the ground level and above invite in plenty of natural light that makes the all-white space feel even brighter. White furnishings frame the large room and sit on top of light hardwood floors. Exposed wood beams on the ceiling add to the casual, beachy atmosphere of the home, as do the natural curtains that hang throughout the space and the palm fans that circulate above.
Outside on the porch, a hammock provides the perfect spot to relax in the fresh air. Although the space is outdoors and offers sweeping views of the surrounding nature, handy screens allow for privacy and help keep pesky bugs at bay. Wicker furniture and the wooden deck create a serene respite from the rest of the home.
This bedroom is just as bright and airy as the rest of the stunning home. White paneled walls and light hardwood floors contrast beautifully while the windows are covered in natural, wicker curtains. A jute rug and rattan couch sit in the next room where a freestanding tub is hidden away in the corner.
Back outside, the wrap-around porch offers, even more, seating thanks to a slew of wicker chairs, couches, and ottomans. It's just the place to sit down and relax as the sunsets with a drink in hand while you chat with friends and family in a true southern fashion.
In the backyard, a massive rectangular swimming pool looks directly at the main house. Perfect for swimming laps or lounging on a raft, this pool is everything a vacation home needs. Although the beach isn't far away, sometimes it's nice to stay close to your home base and enjoy the luxuries of home in between dips.
Lastly, there's the private strand of white sand beach reserved for those staying on the property. Wide stretches of sand and shallow, calm waters await on this East Coast beach that looks like something right out of a Nicholas Sparks novel.
The view is absolutely incredible and would make for an excellent spot to watch the sunrise first thing in the morning. That is if you're the type of person to wake up at the crack of dawn even when you're on vacation. Here's hoping that the next owner of this incredible property chooses to continue Bullock's tradition of renting it out to visitors.
