This month, we're transitioning from Leo to Virgo. We move from a sense of playfulness and excitement to a period of greater productivity and maturity—just in time for back-to-school. Virgo is associated with discernment, practicality, and productivity. We are literally returning from vacation and are ready to prepare for the months ahead. We are willing and ready to get more organized and Virgo supports us in doing so.
The key dates for this month are today, September 1, when there will be a Solar Eclipse Virgo, as well as two days ago, on August 30, when Mercury went retrograde, yet another time. This usually happens 4 times per year, when mercury recedes from the Earth. This time, it will be in retrograde until September 21. We tend to overcompensate for Mercury's distance which is what causes all the chaos; instead of pushing forward amongst the chaos, we should pause and rethink, redo, and re-visit the past. The golden rule with Mercury Retrograde is "no new stuff": this goes for purchases, deals, and relationships. So harness your inner Marie Kondo, and practice the art of minimalism. September 9 is an important date to note as well: It will start a new twelve-year cycle of pleasantry, justice, relationship harmony, and elegance. As always, there will be a New Moon and Full Moon this month, like every month. Full Moon means to let go, to release—the Full Moon, also a Lunar Eclipse this month will take place on September 16 in Pisces; meaning to let go of Piscean type qualities of elusiveness, lack of boundaries, and idealism. The New Moon is a time when you should begin new things. On September 30, in the sign Libra—which will work with the planet Jupiter to bring us into a more harmonious, more balanced state. Lastly, the Sun moves into Libra on September 22, so you'll want to start wishing all of your Libra friends a Happy Birthday.
