Get excited—Stranger Things has officially been renewed for a third season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. If you fell in the love with the '80s nostalgia, adorable friendships, and thrilling revelations from the first two seasons of this instant classic, this is a big deal.
The Duffer Brothers Netflix original and its cast of young stars have become a major phenomenon. Since the show's initial release in 2016, the series has taken home five Emmys, garnered a seriously invested fan base, and catapulted Millie Bobby Brown to her reigning status as the chicest tween we've ever seen.
While the premise of Season 3 is still a bit of a mystery, the Duffers have confirmed you should expect a time jump between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of the upcoming season. "Our kids are aging. We can only write and produce the show so fast … It forces you to do a time jump. But what I like is that it makes you evolve the show," Matt Duffer told THR.
He also hints at entirely original storyline for the much-anticipated third season. "Last year, we had a lot of little cliffhangers at the end of the season. We didn't want to do that again … We wanted to be able to start Season 3 on a very clean slate." Just what will this clean slate turn into? You'll have to wait to find out.
