We love layering, accessorizing, and general eclecticism, but in the kitchen, sometimes* a minimal design scheme is the best. I use an asterisk because minimalism usually only reigns supreme when you have carefully curated pieces—pieces that make you go "oooh" everytime you see them and inspire guests to ask, "Where did you get that?" If you have beautiful tiles, tiles, and countertops in places, bar stools (or other seating) and lighting can be some of the most impactful elements of your room. It's easy to go with classic seats like bentwood stools or Tolix-style French industrial stools, and it's hard to go wrong when you do. But before you rush out and go "classic," we urge you to consider something a little more standout. You could go so, so right.
