Target continues to impress us with its growing portfolio of in-house brands, and the home essentials and personal care line Smartly is no exception. As Target's corporate outpost A Bullseye View reports, the brand was made for budget-conscious, space-constrained shoppers looking for aesthetically pleasing home essentials that won't break the bank.
The line includes over 70 everyday products, spanning all-purpose cleaner and body lotion to razors and paper plates. Best of all, almost all of the products cost $2 or less—roughly 70% cheaper than similar products from national brands.
"Where we see white space and an opportunity to bring Target's guests something differentiated, we’ll go for it,” said Mark Tritton, Target's executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, in the official brand announcement. "The introduction of Smartly to our owned brand portfolio is another example of how we are listening to consumers and bringing them differentiated solutions to make their lives easier. Smartly is affordable, looks great, and most importantly, gets the job done."
