The reigning queen of pop is reportedly moving her personal headquarters to a stunning five-story carriage house in NYC's quaint West Village neighborhood. According to TMZ, following her breakup with Calvin Harris, Taylor Swift is moving over to the 5400-square-foot home and will dish out a casual $40,000 a month for the pleasure. If her recent placement on Forbes's richest self-made women list is any indication, the hefty rent is chump change to the international star. No word yet on whether Swift will pen her next album from the comfort of her new townhouse.
Located at 23 Cornelia Street, the property started out as a stable in the early 20th century (which the exterior still reflects) and was eventually converted into a garage and laundromat. It was then transformed into a photography studio before being upgraded to the townhouse it is today. The most recent renovations began around 2007, when then-owner David Aldea, a Soho House dignitary, hired Solomonoff Architecture Studio to upgrade the building. Aldea added the indoor pool and rooftop lounge, wrapping up renovations four years later in 2011.
The palatial home has since undergone a full "modern makeover" preceding Swift's arrival, according to PopSugar. Today, the five-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom carriage house features high ceilings adorned with opulent chandeliers, plush rugs, and a large master bedroom fit for a queen.
