A New Apartment Trend Could Be Coming to a Neighborhood Near You

The latest big living trend happens to be very small (we’re talking 265-square-feet small) apartments. Yahoo recently reported details about the tiny abodes that can be found in New York City and Boston and that will soon expand into cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and Chicago.

The NYC complex, located in Kips Bay, offers 55 studios that rent for between $2540 and $2750 per month. Sounds like a lot of money for such a small space, right? Enticing prospective tenants are luxury amenities, including gyms, spas, swimming pools, roof decks, and lounges. The complex also has a concierge service that provides conveniences like housekeeping, grocery shopping, and dry-cleaning pickup and delivery.

“What sets them apart from regular buildings is that you can leave your apartment—as tiny as it is—and have a lot to do without leaving the building,” said Constantine Valhouli, founder of real estate data firm NeighborhoodX.
