Although I am currently on a self-imposed two-week alcohol detox, I couldn’t help but click when I saw that Google had released a list of the 10 most searched drinks of 2015. I worked as a bartender and am something of a home mixologist, so I was curious to learn which beverages were trending throughout the past 12 months.
Considering that Moscow Mules have been everywhere lately, it wasn’t a shock to see it appear as the second most searched cocktail. However, I was surprised that the top honor went to sangria. While I love sangria, I know plenty of people who aren’t a fan of the somewhat sugary, red wine–based pitcher drink. It was also interesting to see cocktail geek drinks (gimlet and Aviation) mixed with mainstream booze bombs (Long Island Iced Tea and Sex on the Beach). See the whole list below.
