The World's Favorite Hotel Costs Just $99 a Night (Yes, Really)

Updated 03/20/18

We're used to seeing overwater bungalows in Bora Bora or treehouse villas in Costa Rica top the list of the best hotels in the world, but Trip Advisor's latest report reveals a hidden gem. The travel authority mined millions of reviews and rankings from the past year to spotlight the best of the best—and surprisingly, an under-the-radar hotel in Cambodia won the top spot.

Viroth's Hotel is a modern hotel based in Siem Reap, home to the ancient temples of Angkor Wat. Features include a 20-meter mosaic-tiled pool, tropical courtyard, and rooms styled with midcentury furniture and local antiques. Perhaps the best part is the price: The standard rate for a double room is $99, according to Mr & Mrs SmithTake a look inside.
