Dubai may be most famous for its ultra-luxurious hotels, five-star retail therapy, and extravagant architecture—but soon, deep-pocketed citizens of the world can enjoy its stunning skyline from their very own underwater villa. As part of the Floating Seahorse Signature Division development, 40 glass-walled oceanic homes are being built just off the coast of the incredibly wealthy city, reports Elle Decor.

Located at the high-end Heart of Europe resort comprised of six man-made islands, the stunning underwater homes will only be accessible by helicopter, seaplane, or boat. Each spanning 4000 square feet, the luxurious three-level abodes are "designed especially for families with children and groups" and can accommodate up to eight adults and eight children.

As the magazine explains, the aquarium-like houses will feature two completely submerged bedrooms and an entertainment space, all boasting breathtaking views of the surrounding marine life and coral gardens that'll serve as a natural habitat for seahorses. Above the water, the three-story homes will also offer climate-controlled outdoor areas at sea level, and on the upper deck, inhabitants will enjoy personalized interiors and state-of-the-art amenities like smart home built-ins.

Oh, and about the price tag: Expect to fork over 12 million AED or $3 million USD. Although the villas are being sold as residences and won't be ready for move-in until 2018, let's cross our fingers that perhaps a generous buyer might decide to share their home with travelers on Airbnb.

Step inside the luxurious oceanic homes below, and check out Croatia's underwater wineries next.
